These images are most-probably the first Colour Photographs of China, taken in 1912 by Albert Kahn. “In 1909 the millionaire French banker and philanthropist Albert Kahn embarked on an ambitious project to create a colour photographic record of, and for, the peoples of the world.” Throughout the years Kahn took 72000 pictures, which were until recently relatively unheard of. Some of these pictures can be seen in his book “The wonderful world of Albert Kahn” and a few of his Mongolia images can be seen
